The chronic wound market has suffered since the demise of major skin tissue engineering companies Organogenesis Inc. and Advanced Tissue Sciences last year. Future strategies, it has been suggested, are likely to have a higher emphasis upon factors actively promoting wound healing as opposed to primarily supply of biological tissue equivalent.
